Abstract
Section titled âAbstractâPlatinum deposited on boron doped diamond is a robust material for use as an electrode. In this work platinum is deposited on boron doped diamond by a method developed in the laboratory, the Rotating Disc Slurry Electrode (RoDSE). The synthesized catalyst was characterized by Raman spectroscopy, xray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry in a half cell. The catalyst was used in the anode side of a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) of a direct alkaline fuel cell where power density curves were obtained for hydrogen and ammonia on the anode side, oxygen was used on the cathode side.
