Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāThe aim of the present study is to evaluate the dosimetric properties of synthetic single crystal diamond dosimeters developed at Rome āTor Vergataā University in different radiation therapy techniques. The detectors were firstly characterized in terms of electrical properties by means of C-V and I-V curves. A dosimetric characterization was performed both in reference condition and under high energy electron and proton beams. In all the utilized techniques, the detector showed high reproducibility, linearity, independence on the radiation energy and dose rate. The obtained results indicate that diamond dosimeters are suitable for a very wide range of radiation therapy application, making such devices very versatile tools for precise dose measurements in clinical therapeutic applications.
