Abstract
Section titled “Abstract”Trends in the studies of the electrochemistry of organic compound are evaluated. It is noted that one of the most dynamic fields in the electrochemistry is bioelectrochemistry—a new domain of science at the border between microbiology and electrochemistry. Modern trends in development of electrosynthesis of organic compounds, promising as regards their industrial realization, are discussed; among them are the using of ionic liquids, microemulsions, metal-free mediators, boron-doped diamond electrodes, and flowthrough electrolysis microcells. Examples of processes of organics’ electrosynthesis realized in industry are given.
