Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāWe utilize Raman spectroscopy and imaging to provide a detailed analysis of the local distribution of isolated boron atoms and boron dimers in boron-doped diamonds (BDD). The electronically inactive dimers are found to aggregate more at the grain boundaries. Polarization Raman results also indicate that the boron dimers are incorporated in a preferential lattice direction. Knowledge of how boron is incorporated in the diamond is important to further improve the reactivity and efficiency of BDD as electrodes.
