In recent years, some provincial companies are actively exploring and optimizing the medium voltage grid structure around the improvement of high reliability and flexibility of the 10 kV distribution network. These provincial companies have come up with a variety of unique mid-and low-voltage distribution network structures, such as the double petal of Beijing’s urban sub-centre, the snow net of Tianjin, the double petal and four-corner-six connection of Xiongan, Hebei, the diamond-type of Shanghai, the honeycomb of Weihai, Shandong and the star-type of Zhengzhou, Henan, and carry out pilot construction application. These practices for the determination of provincial companies 10 kV target grid provides a reference. At present, the above-mentioned grid structure of the double petal, snow net, diamond-type three types of structures have been built in Beijing, Hebei, Tianjin, Shanghai pilot areas put into operation. Based on the analysis of the above three kinds of grid structures, such as their development patterns and characteristics, their construction conditions and actual operation efficiency, the paper puts forward some suggestions on the application of grid structures.
