Fabrication of aspheric diffractive lens with high precision by precision glass molding

Aspheric diffractive lens (ADL) has been widely used in wavefront shaping and infrared field as it can realize optical system aberration elimination and chromatic aberration correction. However, the fabrication of high-precision glass ADL is a challenge. In this paper, A manufacturing method is proposed for high-precision aspheric diffraction mold (ADM), including mold substrate and plating selection, plating layer heat treatment, and single-point diamond turning (SPDT) process. The mold is pre-compensated to improve the molding accuracy based on the simulation-predicted form error of glass ADL. Based on the machined high-precision ADM, an ADL with an aspheric form accuracy of 0.2133 μm, a diffraction zone with a form accuracy PV of 22.5- 95 nm, and a surface roughness Sa of 2.813 nm was fabricated using a multi-step heating and annealing molding process.
