Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāThe influences of cutting parameters on the cutting forces in frame sawing of granite were investigated. The tool cutting trajectory during sawing was tracked. The sawing experiment was conducted on a new diamond frame saw machine and the combinations of sawing parameters were designed by one-factor and orthogonal method. The results showed that in a cutting cycle the diamond saw blade was sawing along arc trajectories, and that the blade was involved in cutting for only half of the cycle. The cutting forces,Fhand Fc,increased with increasing feeding speed and cutting length and decreasing flywheel speed. Mathematical models of cutting force were established by regression analysis. It could be concluded that the influence of feeding speed on the cutting forces was more significant than those of cutting length or flywheel speed.Cutting force could be predicted by the model in the actual production.
