Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāThe diamond ring resonator is recognized as a potential quantum photonic device with varieties of applications. The properties of a ring resonator largely depend on the shape parameters. Designing the shape, however, is difficult without closed-form expression and requires complex simulation. Ordinal optimization is useful for solving simulation-based optimization problems like this. In this paper, the shape design problem is formulated into an optimization problem. An ordinal optimization based method is developed, which selects the good enough designs from the decision space and provides with some assurance of the global optimality. Numerical tests under different circumstances are performed, showing the universal feasibility of this method.
