Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāThe Earthās magnetic field remains an intriguing source as a navigational signal. A diamond nitrogen vacancy vector magnetometer is mounted in a strap-down configuration on a surface vessel in an effort to detect and map the crustal magnetic anomaly field in the Chesapeake Bay in the vicinity of Annapolis, MD. Although the experimental effort was unsuccessful due to challenges in calibrating the magnetometer, the overall approach is demonstrated through simulation.
