Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāThe Surface inspection of Ni/diamond composite coating is important for high quality electrodeposited Ni-diamond wires. Ni-coated diamond abrasive wire saw are used widely for cutting hard and brittle materials effectively Diamond abrasives deposited density and uniformed distribution on sawing wire surface are the key factors for sawing efficiency. The phenomenon of abrasives aggregation is also important factor in cutting quality. In this study, we have developed a machine vision based inspection system for measuring the profile and defect of abrasives coated on wire saw surface. In this configuration, the proposed detection algorithm can calculate the amount of single and group abrasives precisely. The 2D dimension of the wire saw are also measured, and the defect of abrasives coated are detected simultaneously during the electrodeposited process. The analyzed result is beneficial to the electrodeposited process to adjusting the plating parameters and the concentration of diamond particles in the plating bath timely.
