Sensing properties of nitrogen (N)-riched diamond as the core component of the sensors based on ensemble nitrogen vacancy (NV) color centers has direct impact on sensors’ performance. The concentration of paramagnetic centers (mainly NVāˆ’, NV0, and N) in N-riched diamond plays a decisive role in diamond sensing properties. Here, we proposed a method to evaluate sensing properties of N-riched diamonds as the sensor sensitive unit by associating parameters R (contrast) and (inhomogeneous spin relaxation time) in the ideal sensing model with concentrations of paramagnetic centers. The results can be used to design high sensitivity solid-spin-based sensors and explore the novel spin functional materials.
