Abstract
Section titled “Abstract”Nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond continue to attract much attention as a basis for hybrid quantum information processing. The authors develop the coherent manipulation and readout of the spin states of a small ensemble of centers, using tailored microwave pulse sequences to reduce background photocurrent and dramatically improve the signal to noise ratio. This technique is a major step toward single-spin quantum hardware featuring compact designs, easy on-chip integration, and operation at room temperature.
