Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāThe paper describes the generation of second-order subharmonics from the SAW devices. The numerical evaluation of an ordinal differential equation, including second-order nonlinearity, predicts the qualitative characteristics of subharmonics generated in the SAW device. Then the second-order subharmonics are observed using a SAW resonator where diamond particles were sprinkled on the surface for simulating the micro defects. It is demonstrated that the measurement results have coincided with the theoretical prediction.
