Abstract In the process of synthetic diamond, as a key component of high-temperature and high-pressure devices, the crack of the six-sided press anvil is easy to cause serious safety accidents. This paper introduces a crack detection method based on an eddy current sensor. Through the detection system, the induced voltage value in the receiving coil is obtained when the hammer has cracks, so as to judge whether there are cracks in the hammer. The results show that when there is a crack in the anvil, the induced voltage in the receiving coil will increase significantly. When the crack length, width, and depth increase, the induced voltage in the receiving coil will increase significantly. It is proved that eddy current testing is feasible in anvil detection.
