Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāShallow nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond are excellent quantum sensors for magnetic fields and temperature. Limited number of characterization methods exist to determine the depth of the NV center, which is useful for evaluating and optimizing its sensitivity. Here we experimentally demonstrate correlation between the radiative lifetime of NVs and their depth from the diamond interface, which paves the way for using lifetime measurements to estimate NV depth.
