Abstract
Section titled “Abstract”The problem of ensuring cooling conditions for functional elements made of composite diamond-containing materials (CDM) during rock cutting and sludge movement is analyzed. The methods of studying surface topography, in particular using contact and optical profilers, and the problems associated with their use are discussed. The main aim of the work is to compare the topography of the surfaces of the CDM inserts and the fractured rock surface to determine the effect of diamond grain size and concentration on the evolution of the filtration channel between them. Experimental studies are performed using profilographs and 3D scanners, which allow obtaining detailed data on the roughness and relief of surfaces. The results of the study show that it is possible to optimize cutting processes and increase tool efficiency by analyzing wear parameters and layer thickness between friction surfaces.
