Abstract
Section titled āAbstractāThis paper aims at presenting the CRYSTALMAX technology developed from the collaboration of ECM Green Tech crystallization furnace manufacturer with CEA-INES research institute. CRYSTALMAX technology provides fully <100> oriented 650 kg silicon ingots, obtained by seed-assisted cast solidification. Resulting 6inch full square wafers feature low production costs that could be further reduced by reduced kerf loss offered by diamond wire sawing, the recycling of Cz-seeds, or the use of SoGM feedstock. P-type CRYSTALMAX wafers were processed as conventional Al-BSF solar cells. The variation of the cells performances along the ingotās height are detailed. Correlations between wafer impurity (Oi; Cs) content, cell performances, effective carrier diffusion length are presented. Device stability towards prolonged light exposure is also evaluated.
