AuthorsIngeborg Stass, Stefan Hildebrandt

Dear Reader, Advanced Quantum Technologies was launched in late 2018, and it has already found its way into the respective scientific communities. We were pleased to receive such a warm and welcoming response by so many scientists working in the fields of quantum science, quantum optics, and quantum computing in its broadest sense. Our journal gives you a forum for fundamental and applied research in quantum computation and simulation, quantum information and control, quantum metrology, quantum optics, and related areas such as nanophotonics, quasiparticle excitations, topological materials, superconductors, micro- and nano electromechanical systems, and ultracold atoms. To see the entire keyword list, please take a look here: https://www.advancedsciencenews.com/advanced-quantum-technologies/ As a recent addition to our Editorial Advisory Board we welcome MiloĆĄ NeslĂĄdek of Hasselt University, Belgium, whose research bridges diamond technology and quantum science. The entire Advisory Board representing a wide range of research topics is listed here: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/25119044/homepage/2820_edbd.html Quantum Machine Learning is one topic that we were exploring in a Special Issue guest-edited by Lucas Lamata, Mikel Sanz, and Enrique Solano (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/toc/25119044/2019/2/7-8). We are looking forward to a Special Issue on Photonic Quantum Technologies guest-edited by Mohamed Benyoucef, Anthony Bennett, Stephan Götzinger, and Chaoyang Lu to be published in February. This is to be followed by Rainer Blatt’s Special Issue Advancing Quantum Technologies - Chances and Challenges later this year. Both Rainer Blatt and Chaoyang Lu also serve on our Advisory Board. Article types of choice range from Communications and Full Papers over comprehensive Reviews, Progress Reports, and Research News to Essays. You will find further details here: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/pb-assets/assets/25119044/2820_Guide_for_Authors_QUTE-1561970707183.pdf Our listing of Most Accessed articles at https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/25119044/homepage/2820_mostaccessed.html illustrates the broad range of topics that has been covered by this young journal already - from quantum photonics over topological superconductivity to 2D materials and spintronics complementing our core fields of quantum computing and information. As quantum science is clearly here to stay, this journal is for you to be explored, as readers and what’s more, as our future authors. We sincerely hope that you enjoy and value our service of a timely and individual response to your inquiries, our effort of finding suitable and promptly-responding reviewers for your manuscripts, and our swift post-acceptance handling of your paper. After all, we are indebted to our authors, reviewers, Advisory Board members, and readers, for entrusting the journal with their research and expertise. We wish you all the best for a successful and pleasant year in 2020. Kind regards, Ingeborg Stass, Editor and Stefan Hildebrandt, Editor-in-Chief P.S.
